Sit with your favorite music and listen to it. Don’t just play it while you work, actually take time out to enjoy the music.
Day dream your way to happiness.
Find a blank sheet and some crayons/markers/pencil and write or draw all the things that thrill you.
Take time out to pet your pets. Find comfort in them being with you.
Find fun in doing a chore by hand instead of using a fancy machine. Wash the dishes by hand. Clean the tub. Bake something from scratch. Find comfort in the movements. Find accomplishments in the simplest things.
Take time out to find someone online, in person who needs help and do what you can. Offer advice, give something of yourself. It’s addicting.
Find something beautiful to stare at and admire.
Spend a day doing things like this, and you won’t believe how good you’ll feel. When people ask what you’re doing? You can say, “Nothing.” You’ll be right. When they ask, “Aren’t you bored?” You can say, “No.” You’ll still be right.
Boredom isn’t something to fix with something to do. Learn to enjoy doing nothing and you’ll never ever be bored again.
Plus many, many more benefits. Even after all the information available out there, people still are not getting enough sleep.
This week, I’d like to encourage everyone to, above everything else, get enough sleep for you. If it means going to bed earlier, do it.
If you find you can’t sleep consistently, 8 hours a night, try various methods to help you sleep. Use more pillows, take a warm bath, try some soothing lavender scents in your room.
If you continue to have problems sleeping, contact your doctor.
No matter what, learn how to sleep, and make it an important part of your life.
If you haven’t watched YouTube Videos, like this one, you’re missing out.
People just like you have fun just making up skits, being themselves. They express their interests, rant, sing, play… and most of all, they share themselves with the world.
It isn’t easy, but it is a whole lot of fun.
It doesn’t matter what you look like, or where you are, you can join this community, and for those who are shy about getting in front of the camera, you can have fun too. Just watch, comment, rate, have fun.
Someone said before that once you start a blog, sometimes you go through a phase where you might run out of ideas of what to post next.
I’m going through such a phase now, trying to think of what topic to chat about next. If you’ve got ideas, feel free to share.
Thanks for hanging in there. Sometimes zapped minds just need a bit of a rest. And then just get back to work later. I do that sometimes. In some projects sometimes longer than others.
I’ll try to establish more regular posting patterns and will try to think ahead as to what I’ll want to chat about.
Anyway, I’ve found something I like using, I hope you do too.
FitDay.com has a really cool, free, online program to help you keep a food and exercise journal. You’ll be able to calculate not only what you’re eating, but how many calories you’re burning, and plot out how a sensible weight loss plan.
If you haven’t already, try it out. I’ve been using it the past couple days. It’s been fun so far. For a small fee, you can get the program on your computer with added stuff to it. Either one looks cool but I’m going to see if I remember to use it regularly enough before I purchase.
How many of your friends do you really not like, but keep them as your friends anyway?
I’m talking about the girl that always disses your choice in clothes. The girl who complains about where the group is going for the night. The girl who talks down to your ideas.
The Girl That Makes You Cringe!
Some people feel pressured to be in groups or be with people you don’t like simply to have more friends or to be more popular. You don’t have to put up with this!
Quality Over Quanity!
So many people say this, and some don’t believe it. Honestly, how many of your friends can you REALLY count on during a crisis? Can you name at least three?
If you can’t, time to find better quality friends.
If you’re shy, and feel like you don’t have friends, time to find friends. Online, offline, someone, anyone. Someone you like to spend time with. Go to your favorite places to scope out new friends.
Anyone can be your friend, so give everyone a chance. You’ll have better luck when you have the same likes and interests, so try your local hang outs first. However, you don’t have to put up with a friend if she’s mean, jealous, snotty or any other personality traits you don’t like. Decline offers to get together. It’s better than putting up with it or letting your friend influence you.
By the way, a bad friend who makes bad choices, will often try to get you to join in the bad thing so she doesn’t feel alone. Don’t fall for this. Always blaze your own trail!
Have fun with friends who love you for who you are, and can share in those great moments together.
How many people get up and rush out the door? No breakfast, barely dressed, feeling over worked and underpaid.
You might be over worked, but that’s no excuse for having a terrible morning.
Your morning sets the tone for the whole day.
Many people choose to get up early for the only fact that they can spend time getting up, eating a breakfast they cooked, picking out clothes they want, lingering over a TV show or a newspaper.
You don’t have to be a morning person to enjoy your morning. Just realized that you aren’t a morning person, and find a job that fits your schedule.
Not everyone was meant for 9-5, Monday through Friday. If this is you, change. If you like a schedule, stick with it.
You should be enjoying life, not dreading waking up in the morning. I love sleeping in as much as anyone, but if I had to get up early every day, it better be for some job I really adore. I’ve done it. I’ve gotten up early just to write fiction.
Have you ever done something so often that it has stopped being fun for you? Some people continue to weave baskets or sew and they do it only because they don’t know how to do anything else.
I’ve been there. I’ve played games so much that I think. “This is fun, but I feel like I’m wasting time.”
If you think about it, time is what we have to do the things we want to do with it. There is no law that says, “You have to make good use of your time.”
It also doesn’t say, “You have to do something every moment of the day.”
So why do we feel like at times, when we are doing nothing, we are really wasting time? What is this nagging inside of us?
When we were younger, we were told that one day we wouldn’t play any more, we would get jobs and have to work to make lots of money. That would take up most of our time. We would have to ‘do something’ with our lives.
I don’t think anyone has to ‘do something’. Most people take up jobs they don’t like just to ‘do something’.
Step back.
Take a look.
Figure out, what is it I really want to do with my time.
Find time to be yourself and to do what you want.
Don’t let the nag inside you tell you, that you must do something just because you chose to do nothing.
